tUSDC and Trading Balance
What your test collateral is, and what the Trading Balance vault adds on top of it.
tUSDC is devnet test collateral
Every stake, ticket and pre-open order on Agari is sized in tUSDC: a 6-decimal SPL token minted by a faucet authority with no freeze authority. It has no market value — it exists only so devnet trading has a consistent unit. Get some from Get test funds in the header or Portfolio; see Wallet and devnet funds for the exact flow.
An ordinary wallet order escrows tUSDC straight from your wallet's token account for the life of the order, and returns it to your wallet (or pays out the settled result there) once the position closes.
Trading Balance
Trading Balance is a separate pool of tUSDC held in agari-vault, Agari's Trading Balance and bounded-grants program, rather than sitting directly in your wallet's token account. Depositing into it is one signature; withdrawing back to your wallet is another. Its purpose is tap-trading: once funded and once you've granted a session key, further orders don't need a new wallet popup for every trade.
Nothing about Trading Balance changes how a position settles — the settlement rule (Up if close ≥ open, void 0.5/0.5 if a print never arrived or two sources disagreed) is identical whether the stake came from your wallet directly or from this balance. It only changes where the money sits before and after a trade, and who can sign an order against it (you, or a session key your wallet granted, capped and revocable).
Depositing and withdrawing
Deposit moves tUSDC from your wallet into the vault account; withdraw moves it back. The Trading Balance panel in Portfolio gives Deposit and Withdraw equal weight, with one amount field and a Max button. The field says in red when the amount is not a number or is more than your wallet holds, and its starting amount never asks for more than the wallet has. If the wallet is short of devnet SOL for the fee, the panel re-checks on its own every 12 seconds and clears the warning once the fee is covered. The Private balance uses the same controls. Withdrawal only pays to a token account you own — nothing here can redirect your funds elsewhere. See Portfolio for where a Trading Balance position shows up once it settles.
